The Right to Information Act 2005 is a move to replace a culture of secrecy and control in Public Authorities with one of openness, transparency and participation. The Act also proposes to strengthen the democratic setup of our country by providing citizens access to Information in Public Authorities covering the executive, judiciary and legislature arms.
