Uma Shankar, Secretary (Power), Government of India graced the occasion as Chief Guest. A large number of dignitaries alongwith NHPCians and their family members attended the function. |

| As per the financial results for the half year ended 30.09.2011, NHPC has earned a net profit of Rs. 1757.5 crore as against Rs. 1,227.6 crore during corresponding period of the previous year; thereby registering an increase of 43%. Analysts meet was held at Mumbai on 31.10.2011 wherein the performance of the company was presented before the analysts and potential investors. The analysts expressed their concern from the point of view of investors on the progressive delays in commissioning of projects. |
| NHPC has signed the Promoter’s Agreement with SJVN Limited and Government of Manipur for setting up a Joint Venture Company for implementation of 1500MW Tipaimukh Hydroelectric (Multipurpose) Project in Manipur on 22.10.2011 at New Delhi. The Promoter’s Agreement was signed by the CMD, NHPC along with Shri L.P. Gonmei, Principal Secretary (Power), Govt. of Manipur and Shri. R.P. | A dividend of Rs.738.04 crore was paid to shareholders including Rs.637.40 crore to Government of India for the FY 2010-11. The dividend of Govt’s share was presented to Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power on 29.09.2011 in the presence of Secretary (Power), Government of India and other senior officials of MOP and NHPC. This is the highest ever dividend by the Company since its inception. |
| NHPC has been awarded “First Prize” by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India for the year 2009-10 under Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award programme for outstanding work in implementation of Rajbhasha amongst Public Sector Undertakings located in Region ’A’. | The States of Sikkim and West Bengal were severely affected in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck in the evening of 18.09.2011. Although damages occurred to some buildings and roads in project areas, major Structures at NHPC power stations and projects are safe. NHPC was able to restore generation from Teesta-V & Rangit Power Stations in Sikkim within 6-8 hours of the quake. NHPC is extending all possible help in rescue & relief operations to the local people in coordination with the State administration. |

| The permanent Court of Arbitration, at the Hague, in the matter of Kishanganga Project, has passed its order on interim measures on 23.09.2011. Accordingly, construction work at the project can continue in the water conductor system, temporary bye pass tunnel excavation below the river bed and sub surface foundation of dam. |

As per the accounts, the Company has achieved the highest ever net profit after tax of Rs.2,166.67 crore (LY:Rs.2,090.50 crore which included impact of earlier years sale) of Rs 587 crore relating to earlier years sale) and registered sales turnover of Rs.4,046.59 crore. Further, the Company for the third consecutive time has received ‘Nil” comments from statutory auditors on the Accounts. |

| The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy made a study visit to Port Blair on 29.01.2011. | As per the unaudited financial results for the half year ended 30.09.2010 adopted by the Board of Directors on 28.10.2010, NHPC Ltd has earned net profit of Rs.1,228 crore as against Rs. 1,119 crore earned during corresponding period of the previous financial year, thereby registering an increase of 9.7%. |
